Had another fabulous holiday in our home from home. hope to be back again next year.
This was a perfect time of year for us to stay in the Romney Marsh as not too crowded and weather genuinely fine. Enjoyed walking along the beach to the Romney sands and catching RHDR there. Hythe is also a lovely town to visit, explored the medieval churches of the Romney Marsh. Perfect and lovely setting, house is spectacular and clean and homely. Views from bedroom at back are lovely.

Another lovely stay at Purley Dene weather was lovely. love walks on the beach and then lunch at the jolly fisherman went down well for the grand children. really good trips out to rye and Hastings a very enjoyable relaxing weakened.
A superb week spent at Purley Dene - so relaxing fantastic sea views. spacious and really clean! we will be back.
We had a wonderful time in Kent! the house was clean and very comfortable
Our second visit to 'Purley Dene' we were lucky with the weather as we had sun every day at some part so able to get out and about.
loved the views especially at sun-rise, good week.
It was a fantastic well equipped house. The boys loved the games room and we liked how close it was to the beach. It had good views and was close to the Chinese takeaway! We enjoyed it a lot!
August - Stevens Family
We've loved Greatstone/New Romney since 1965! Had a caravan here from when I was 5-15. Coming back all these years later... area is still fabulous and unchanged. This house is very special and we know our mum would approve (from heaven) that we have returned to this special place and found this house which we would have passed many times all those years ago. We feel very at home here, as I'm sure everyone who comes here does.
Hope you're having a great time too!
June - The Rugman Family.
We had a great family holiday and the weather was fine. Our grandchildren enjoyed the garden and the beach. We had a excellent meal at Demetrios (10 minute walk). We enjoyed the railway and made several visits to Dymchurch. Look forward to returning soon.
May - The Hayden Family.
We had a very pleasant stay at Purley Dene. We really enjoyed the house and the garden. We were lucky the weather improved this week so we could sit outside. We visited: the Sound Mirrors, Dover Castle, Canterbury (+ cathedral), Battle Abbey and Battlefield, Dungeness. We had a good meal at The Pilot Inn (Dungeness) and Sotirios Restaurant (down the road). We also had dinner at The Plough in New Romney. We have stayed in many holiday homes in the UK but Purley Dene was one of the best! We would like to come back some time.
April - The Bakker Family.
We had an absolutely wonderful time in Purley Dene! The house is very spacey, cosy, well equipped. The garden is superb for the kids - garage playing area is fantastic! And so near to the sea! Perfect for jogs, walks and playing with pebbles and sand. We want to come back!
Places we visited: Dover Castle, Open day Coast Guard, Canterbury (as always), DH&HR train to Dungeness, playground and gym, Pashley manor garden (Tulip Festival).
Food: The Chinese take-away near Spar is very good! Fish and Chips near the post office (huge servings!).
Thank you for the lovely house.
April - Family Brauers-Lax.
Had a very pleasant stay. The house is very well appointed. We are more than likely to return.
April - The Hall's.
We have had another lovely stay here at Purley Dene. Although not having the best weather, the games room entertained us well. We had amazing walks up the beach and played in the park and outdoor gym.
The beds were very comfy and we all had amazing nights sleeps!
P.S The Easter Bunny was very kind and did an amazing Easter egg hunt!
March - The Jones Family.
Again it was a lovely stay in Greatstone. It is a nice house and we really enjoyed it here. We had a great time visiting the cliffs, Brighton, London and Hastings. We'd love to come back. Also, a special thanks from the kids because they enjoyed the games room very much.
October - The Schaafsma Family.
Purley Dene has been a perfect base to spend our very first holiday in Great Britain. We loved going to the beach by just stepping out of the garden gate. There are so many lovely places to see around. We may come back one day!
October - From Germany.
Our family came down to celebrate our daughters 40th birthday and she described the experience as "Perfect" so thank you for letting us stay in your great house. We intend to make it an annual event for the next few years.
September - The Hayden Family.
Thank you again for the use of your home. We were last here 4 years ago. We all had a good time.

David and Heather Tassel.
We had a fantastic stay in Purley Dene. Loved the house, big enough for the six of us and with everything we needed. Loved the garden looking out over the sea. We are planning on coming back!
McLean Family (Netherlands)
We spent a wonderful time in this welcoming house. Everything was great, the house, the beach, the weather, the golf... The house is very well equipped, nothing was missing and really comfortable. At this time, we could even have lunch in the garden! We enjoyed playing table football with some friends who were also on holiday in Greatstone. We went to Rye, Hastings, Canterbury, Dymchurch, Dungeness - All interesting. We will probably come back! See you soon with pleasure.
A lovely family gathering over the Easter weekend. The sea was very cold - but we did go for a quick dip. Cycling along the sea wall, past Dymchurch, and having a drink at the Shepard and Crook at Burham made for a great day out.
The Jones Family.
We have enjoyed four lovely days staying at Purley Dene, the house is so welcoming and comfortable. The garden, beach and sea beyond is a joy to behold. We will look forward to returning.
Another magical time at Purley Dene - It has been too long since our last visit. Kids cant wait to come back. A great start to the new year. Thank you.
Down again at Easter, we didn't have much sun, cold and windy! Luckily we played table football, snooker and darts. We had a fantastic time walking on the beach.
The house is very good, attention to details, taken care of those little things that matter, like the games room........ The view is just stunning from the two main bedrooms. I've always dreamt of walking out of my living room in casual clothes, bare feet, straight onto the beach. You made my dream come true........ Thank you for the great time we had. (MacInnes Family)
We had a lovely stay at Purley Dene. The house is lovely and so clean. Hope to stay again next year! (Howell Family)
We've had a super week here, we were blessed with excellent weather, enjoyed trips to Dymchurch, Lathe Barn, the listening ears and of course the railway to Dungeness and the Lighthouse. The location and facilities here at Purley Dene make it ideal for a family summer break. I hope we will all return............P.S. enjoyed a brilliant meal at Romney Spice, the staff were excellent and the Tea Rooms "Deblyns" was fabulous. (The McPherson & Robertson family)
Our third year at Purley Dene and we once again thank the owners for keeping it to such a high standard and for making it "a real home from home" with everything that you need. We have had really good weather until the weekend. lovely journeys on both the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway and the Kent and East Sussex. Also good trips into Hastings old town. Have enjoyed the food at beefeater just outside Hastings. All in all a good holiday, which we hope to also repeat in 2019.(The Jones, Wight and Peckham families)
Purley Dene has suited us very well this week - almost a home from home from a practical point of view and it is refreshingly different in other respects. The seas ranged from rough, to calm as a millpond. The skies ever changing, with some stunning dawns - a spectacular rainbow coming down on to the dark see - very memorable.
I first came down here in 1945, immediately after the war. My parents owned a house along here, and I remember helping to shove sand out of the house through broken windows.
There was a bakers and an estate agents where Demetrio's is now.
We used to travel down here on the train - the station was at the top of Baldwin Road and we used to walk from there with our luggage!
